$300K stolen from Cairns Foods

Three Cairns Foods Limited employees have appeared in court charged with theft of more than $300 000 from their employer.
Chawaspiwa Kafesi, 35, Alex Mutimikulu, 33, and Farai Guyo, 58, appeared before Tendai Mahwe. They pleaded not guilty to the charge. The three are alleged to have connived to steal the money from the company safe between May and June this year. Kafesu was the custodian of the funds as he kept the safe keys.
Mutimukulu who was the security officer allegedly removed the access card reader machine which detects unauthorised people to the treasury section. The three allegedly shared the money.
Finance Executive Brain Maphosa discovered that the money was missing and reported to the police leading to their arrest.
