Police hail public cooperation as ZRP wins at ZITF

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has commended members of the public for their continued cooperation in the fight against crime, describing the partnership as essential to maintaining law and order nationwide.
In a statement issued following its participation at the 2026 Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF), the police said public involvement remains a cornerstone of effective policing.
"The ZRP applauds the public for their continued cooperation and invaluable support in the fight against crime. This partnership remains a cornerstone in maintaining law and order across the country," the organisation said.
The ZRP also celebrated its success at the trade fair, where it won First Prize in the Best Security Services Exhibit category — an achievement the organisation said reflects its commitment to professionalism and innovation.
"This achievement reflects the organisation’s commitment to professionalism, innovation and effective service delivery," the police noted.
According to the ZRP, the exhibition provided a vital platform to engage directly with citizens while showcasing modern policing strategies, crime‑prevention initiatives and emerging technologies.
"The exhibition provided an important platform for the Police to engage directly with the public, showcase modern policing strategies and demonstrate various crime prevention initiatives and technologies," the statement read.
The police added that the event also helped raise public awareness on safety and security, reinforcing the importance of community participation in crime prevention.
"It also enhanced public awareness on safety, security and the role citizens play in combating crime," the ZRP said.
The organisation further stated that its presence at the ZITF strengthened relations with key stakeholders while promoting transparency and accountability in policing.
"The exhibition strengthened stakeholder relations and promoted transparency and accountability in policing," the police said.
