Former Zanu-PF secretary  for administration  and for decades a close confidante of president Didymus Mutasa says the increasingly frail non agrarian  must restore democracy  within the ruling   party by ditching  its archaic one centre of power principle if he is to redeem his and the former liberation movement's damaged image.

Mutasa who is now an elder at new kid on the political block ZimPF also rubbished claims that by telephoning  Mugabe recently this meant that he intended to go back to Zanu-PF or get favoured from his boss.

Meanwhile, Zanu-PF Secretary for Science and Technology Professor Jonathan Moyo has been labelled a "war deserter and a thief" who is not qualified to comment on succession issues as he fled at the height of the liberation struggle to further his studies in imperialist countries.

The Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans' Association (ZNLWA) chairman Christopher Mutsvangwa said Prof Moyo was the least qualified person to talk about succession because he knew nothing about the topic.

He said experts at succession issues were war veterans, among other luminaries of the struggle. He said the war veterans became a very big army during the liberation struggle and they lost many thousands of people both from the guerrilla ranks, the mujibhas, chimbwidos and parents who were supporting them.
