The curtain comes down on this year's season of M-Net's The Voice, with Zimbo John Ansley slated as the favourite to take the top spot which guarantees him a shot at the big time as it comes with a lucrative recording contract.
This winner of Sunday's finale will walk away with a recording contract with Universal Music South Africa, R250 000 cash from Dialdirect, a Samsung Gear S3 smartwatch, a Samsung Galaxy A8 smartphone, a Samsung Gear VR, a Samsung 360 camera, a Samsung iconiX set and a 65 inch KS9500 Samsung SUHD TV, a Subaru Impreza 2.0 Premium CVT and R100 000 worth of Truworths fashion.
The finale of the show goes ahead despite controversy that engulfed the show last week after two contestants had to be re-called because of voting irregularities.
On Tuesday last week, M-Net abruptly scrapped the viewer voting for this week due to irregularities regarding alleged paid-for marketing votes that could potentially have skewed the results.
In an interview with 3-mob.com, the Lomagundi High School graduate said that the show had given him a platform to showcase his prowess as an artiste.
"Well, it's given me a platform to grow as a person, as an artiste, as an entertainer and a brand. It's such a massive amount of exposure so it's completely changed my life," he said.
Despite the possibility that he might fall short in the final hurdle, he added that his future was already brighter after his participation in this year's competition.
"The sky is the limit. I look forward to being creative, recording original music, collaborating with other artists around the world and exploring life under these amazing new circumstances while enjoying using every new opportunity that comes my way to the max. I don't know what the future holds but I'm pretty sure it's going be awesome," he said.
