Kagonda village head in Uzumba Maramba Pfungwe, Gladmore Nyamukapa reportedly recently forced villagers to buy exercise books for Zanu-PF youths.

According to the Zimbabwe Peace Project names of people who would contribute money towards national events, specifically the forth-coming Heroes Day commemorations would be noted in the books.

"Recently residents were each forced to pay 50cents towards Heroes Day commemorations. Nyamukapa told the gathering that the president had given youths powers to crush all those opposed to Zanu PF and would use violent means if necessary. Benard Nyamukapa a delegate during the proceedings, also echoed the same sentiments, and added that Zanu PF youths were given power and authority by the president to ruthlessly clamp down all opposition movements," said ZPP.
