Zanu PF will hold a crucial politburo meeting tomorrow at 2pm at its headquarters in Harare, with proposed constitutional amendments expected to dominate discussions ahead of the party's annual conference in Chinhoyi.

The meeting follows the postponement of last Friday's extraordinary politburo session after disagreements erupted over proposed changes intended to align the party's constitution with the national Constitution.

The politburo is expected to deliberate on the contentious amendments and approve the agenda for the annual conference, which runs from October 13 to 17 at Chinhoyi University of Technology in Mashonaland West Province.

The proposed changes have reportedly exposed divisions within the ruling party, with disagreements over the amendment process and provisions affecting party leadership and administration.

On Wednesday, Zanu PF will convene a central committee meeting at 10am as part of preparations for the annual gathering.

Delegates representing the party's 10 provinces are expected to travel to Chinhoyi on Thursday, ahead of the conference's official opening on Friday.

The conference will conclude on Saturday, with delegates scheduled to return to their respective provinces on Sunday.

The outcome of tomorrow's politburo meeting could prove decisive in determining whether the proposed constitutional amendments proceed to the party's annual conference amid mounting internal disagreements.
