MDC Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa is set to hold his first post election rally in Chitungwiza at Huruyadzo Shopping Centre.

This comes after Bulawayo High Court Judge Justice Nokuthula Moyo set aside a police order barring the MDC Alliance from proceeding with its rally which had been scheduled for the Midlands city of Kwekwe last Sunday.

The MDC Alliance is a coalition of seven opposition parties that was launched on the 5th of August, 2017 at the Zimbabwe Grounds in Highfield, with the aim to challenge Zanu-PF in 2018 harmonised elections.

The party's presidential candidate for the 2018 elections is Nelson Chamisa. The MDC Alliance has not yet announced its vice president.

The electoral coalition brought together MDC-T and former MDC breakaway parties (Welshman Ncube and Tendai Biti who had left in 2005 and 2014 respectively) together with other parties including Zanu Ndonga, Transform Zimbabwe and Zimbabwe People First.
