Zimbabwe allrounder Roy Kaia has been suspended from bowling in international cricket with immediate effect after an independent assessment found his bowling action to be illegal.
The offspinner's bowling action was reported in July during a Test against Bangladesh.
Kaia can continue to bowl in domestic cricket subject to permission from Zimbabwe Cricket while he can also apply to have his action reassessed by the ICC once it has been modified.
The 29-year-old made his debut for Zimbabwe in 2015 in an ODI against Pakistan but didn't bat or bowl. He has made three Test appearances since earning his first cap in May 2021, taking zero wickets and scoring 59 runs.
In a statement, the ICC said: "The panel concluded that his deliveries exceeding the 15 degrees level of tolerance permitted under the regulations and his bowling action was illegal.
"Kaia's international suspension will also be recognised and enforced by all National Cricket Federations for domestic cricket events played in their own jurisdiction.
"However, according to Article 11.5 of the regulations and with the consent of Zimbabwe Cricket, Kaia may be able to bowl in domestic cricket events played under their auspices."
