Jim Kunaka, a Zanu-PF political activist facing allegations of incitement to public violence, has been remanded to March 24 following a routine appearance at the Harare Magistrates Courts.
The charges are linked to the late war veteran Blessed Runesu Geza, who last year called for anti-government protests. Kunaka appeared before Provincial Magistrate Ruth Moyo, who ordered that he remain in custody as police investigations continue.
Magistrate Moyo previously ruled that Kunaka was not suitable for bail, citing that some of his alleged accomplices remain at large. Court documents state that Kunaka, along with accomplices already on remand and others still sought by authorities, allegedly conspired to incite the public to participate in an unlawful gathering dubbed the "One Million Men March."
The march was reportedly organised by Geza to protest against President Emmerson Mnangagwa accomplices remain on remand under Harare Magistrates Court references CRB HREPN 8848/25 and HREPN 8980/25, as well as Mbare Magistrates Court case CRB 7049/25. Meanwhile, 10 war veterans arrested on similar charges have been granted US$200 bail each following changes in circumstances.
