The case involving Bellarmine Mugabe and his co-accused Tobias Matonhodze has been postponed to March 24, as the pair reportedly consider a plea deal with the State.
The two appeared in court last week but abandoned their bail applications after it emerged that they were allegedly in the country illegally, according to submissions made by their legal representatives.
Lawyers representing the accused indicated that both men are now seeking to negotiate a plea agreement.
Mugabe, the son of former president Robert Mugabe, and Matonhodze are facing serious charges, including attempted murder, defeating the ends of justice, and pointing a firearm.
The charges stem from a February incident in which the two allegedly shot and injured a 23-year-old gardener at a residence in Hyde Park, Harare.
Prosecutors allege the shooting occurred at the Mugabe family home, although full details surrounding the circumstances of the incident have not yet been disclosed in court.
The matter remains under investigation, with the next hearing expected to determine the way forward regarding the proposed plea deal.
