Zimbabwean man shot dead in Cape Town

A Zimbabwean man from Mbare, Harare, identified as Norman Kondwani, popularly known as "Abhare Captain", has been shot dead in Cape Town, South Africa.

Kondwani was reportedly sitting with friends in a parked vehicle on August 25 when an unknown gunman approached and opened fire. He was the only person in the vehicle who was shot.

According to reports, Kondwani sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. The other people who were with him were not injured.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear, with police investigating the killing and no arrests having been announced.

Kondwani's family suspects that he may have been the victim of a targeted attack, although they have not indicated what might have motivated the killing.

Family spokesperson Wilfred Kondwani reportedly said the family was awaiting the outcome of police investigations before drawing conclusions about the motive.

The shooting has left the Zimbabwean community in Cape Town mourning, while investigations continue to establish what led to the fatal attack and identify those responsible.

Police have not yet announced any arrests in connection with the killing.
