Ex-CIO boss to replaces Kumbirai Kangai

Former CIO boss and veteran freedom fighter Shadreck Chipanga is tipped to replace the late national hero and Buhera Senator Kumbirai Kangai as one of the party's Manicaland Senators.

Kangai had been elected to the senate through proportional representation in a province where Zanu PF dominates with four senators while MDC-T provides the last two.

According to the country's new Constitution senators are elected under a party-list system of proportional representation based on the number of votes cast for National Assembly members for each party in each province.
