Eleven students at Sojini High school in Mbembesi dropped out of school due to pregnancies.
The girls are aged between 12 and 20, the school development committee chairperson Ntombizondwa Meyaphi has said.
According to B-Metro, the number of pregnant girls could be high but school authorities tend to be secretive.
"There are many female students who have fallen pregnant but the school authorities are keeping the matter under wraps as they fear that it might tarnish the image of the school" said an unnamed teacher.
One parent said her daughter used to take advantage of her absence to bring in her lover in the house for sex.
"Most of the times I will not be at home as I do piece jobs so my child was exposed. It's unfortunate because her lover was a 21 year old herdman and he has since left."
