Harare East MP Terence Mukupe has indicated that he will be moving a motion in parliament for the mandatory two term limits of 5 terms on Chief Executive Officers for the parastatals in the country.
"I am seriously considering moving a motion in Parliament that seeks to set mandatory 2 term limits of 5 years on CEO's of Parastatals," he said.
"This in my view is necessitated by the consistent non performance of key parastatals. One parastatal that pains me is IDC which has Zimglass, Willowvale Mazda Motor Industries, Zimphos etc and all these key national companies have been run to the ground and the head of IDC has not been made to account for the state of affairs of these public institutions !!!! Your thoughts."
This comes in the wake of several paratsatals bosses having been implicated in corrupt activities which swindled the companies thousands of dollars in not millions.
