Harare to save $2m in new streetlights projects

A solar project that will see the installation of 10,000 solar streetlights will save Harare City Council $2million annually in maintenance and electricity bills.
Seven companies have been tasked with carrying out the project.
The project will be undertaken in phases and will see the installation of solar streetlights along Willowvale, Seke, Churchill, Chiremba, Rekai Tangwena, Highfield as well as Quorn and Argyle roads.
The first phase will see 1000 solar street lights being installed and the other 9000 would be installed over 3 years.
