ZANU PF National Chairman – Ambassador Simon Khaya Moyo has said President Robert Mugabe is too busy to attend to business of the Parliament.
Moyo who was making comments on the Presidential Speech made on September 6, this year – said President Mugabe was "unable to deal with business of the parliament because of his "tight schedule." He said in part:
"The President succinctly, but wit significant purpose made reference to the issues relevant to the Global Political Agreement, the Economy, Housing, Air Zimbabwe, ZESA and the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Holdings, to mention only a few, indicating that 16 Bills will be presented for debate during this session.
Evident among the Bills is Electoral Management Bill, the Referendum Bill, Human Rights Commission Bill, Diamond Bill, and the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe Debt Restructuring Bill. Indeed Parliament is also expected to ratify protocols that Zimbabwe singed. I am positive that some of my colleges will dwell on these when they present their responses. The President however has a tight schedule and that makes it a bit hard for him to attend to business of the House," he said.
President Mugabe and Zanu PF have always attacked the Movement for Democratic Change formations for derailing progress through absenteeism in parly.
