On behalf of the president of Caps United Football Club, Gunners Football Club and Sports Avenues, the shareholders thereof, the Board of Directors, the CEO, staff, players, supporters and sponsors of the Green Machine and its associate entities, we convey our sincere and heartfelt sympathy to the Dynamos president Keni Mubayiwa, his board, executive, the entire team and the whole sporting fraternity following the unfortunate accident that claimed the lives of Dynamos supporters early this morning. We especially extend our condolences to their immediate families. This is our collective loss. We mourn with you. May their dear souls rest in eternal peace.
We have learnt with shock, horror and disbelief the passing on of our Dynamos brethren and compatriots on their way to Gweru to support their beloved team. This is a sad loss, not only for their immediate families, but for the entirety of the Zimbabwe football fraternity.
We at CAPS United Football Club, Gunners FC and Sports Avenues wish to express our sincere condolences to the families of the deceased, and indeed to the nation as a whole. Sport, and in particular soccer, has been a unifying and rallying point in difficult times for the Republic. It has given us something to talk, laugh and sometimes cry about.
This sad loss goes beyond an accident. It is a national disaster. We call upon our leaders in the ZPSL and the NFAZ to urge central Government through our ever available and effective Ministry of Sport, to accord the deceased State assisted funerals. We call upon the whole football fraternity, indeed the whole sporting community, to give as much help and assistance as they are able to accord to the families of the deceased.
We at CAPS United Football Club, Gunners FC and Sports Avenues, will play our small part in according these dear beloved departed ones a befitting send off.
Our prayers are with their families. May our God and Eternal Father be our strength and comfort as we mourn these dear departed ones.
Our prayers are also with the injured ones. We wish them a speedy recovery.
We continue to pray for all football supporters in Zimbabwe. May our God, the Father of our Saviour the Lord Jesus Christ, keep all soccer supporters, officials and teams safe and out of harm's way in the days to come.
