MDC-T Matabeleland South youth Chairperson Morgan Ncube who was arrested for allegedly calling president Robert Mugabe a baboon last week was on Tuesday refused bail by a Plumtree magistrate saying he would incite violence.
Ncube who is also a councillor in Beitbridge was arrested at a rally in Gwanda after allegedly calling Mugabe a baboon.
On denying Ncube bail, Plumtree magistrate Stephen Mavhuna said he would incite violence during campaigns for possible elections either this year or the next.
Mavhuna said it was thus in the interest of the public that Ncube remained behind bars.
Ncube who was represented by Liberty Mcijo was then remanded in custody to June 22.
