ZANU PF Member of Parliament for Mangwe Constituency in Matabeleland South, Obedingwa Mguni was involved in an accident on Saturday.
He escaped uninjured when his Ford Ranger rammed onto a tractor along the Bulawayo-Plumtree road at 22 km peg. The accident left two people injured.
Mguni was on his way home from celebrating Eunice Moyo's appointment as Minister of State for Bulawayo Province at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF).
Mguni said he ploughed onto a tractor which was travelling to Plumtree.
"The tractor had no lights or reflectors and I only realised after I heard a loud bang that there was a vehicle ahead of me. I escaped unhurt although my car was a complete write-off. The driver of the tractor and a lady who was a passenger sustained injuries after they were thrown out of the tractor."
He immediately called the police who attended the scene.
