Zion Church leader jailed for bush-sex with girlfriend

An unrepentant Kezi-based Zion Church leader, Colen Dube (54) will taste the wages of sin behind bars after being sentenced to three years by Matebeleland South Provincial Magistrate, Busani Sibanda.
Magistrate Sibanda showed Colen Dube no mercy for messing around with young persons after his involvement in an adulterous affair and having sexual intercourse with a minor (16), as defined in section 70 of the Criminal Law Codification and Reform Act (Chapter 09:23).
In sentencing, Sibanda slapped Dube with a 3-year imprisonment, of which one year is suspended for 5 years on condition during the period the offender does not commit any offence of a sexual nature, for which upon conviction, he is sentenced to imprisonment without the option of a fine.
Circumstances are that sometime in December 2021, the church leader (Colen Dube) proposed love to the minor, and she accepted the proposal, and they became a boyfriend and girlfriend.
During the same month of December, extending to October 2022, the church leader had sexual intercourse in the bush with his girlfriend who was doing form one and with her consent.
The church leader's girlfriend fell ill in October 2022, and her mother accompanied her to a mission hospital, where it was observed that she was pregnant.
The complainant's mother reported the matter to the police, and investigations were conducted, resulting in the arrest of the church leader.
