MDC-T statement on the meeting of POLAD

The Political Actors Dialogue commonly known as POLAD sat on Friday the 2nd of August 2019 to deliberate on the challenges the country is facing, especially the "economy".
The meeting was attended by HE President Dr Khupe, The VP, Adv Gutu, the SG CDE Mao and The WA SG Hon Misihairabwi.
The misters of Finance Hon. M Ncube, Industry Hon. M Ndlovu and the ZRB governor Dr Mangundya briefed the delegates on the state of the economy which was followed by a robust debate on SI 142 and the need for wages to catch up with the cost of living for our people.
Proposal on the way forward included the need to discuss implementation modalities for the disbursement of devolution finance and the need to review the current subsidy policy.
The next meeting of principals will focus on the strategy, to achieve the goals of POLAD.
