HARARE - ZANU PF Secretary for Women's Affairs Mabel Chinomona has called on members of the Women's League across the country to remain focused, united and productive during the ongoing agricultural season.
Her remarks were shared on the Women's League X account following an executive meeting held at the party headquarters in Harare.
Chinomona emphasised that agriculture remains the backbone of Zimbabwe's economy and a critical pillar of household and national food security.
She urged women to take full advantage of inputs provided under the Presidential Inputs Scheme and other government‑supported initiatives to ensure maximum productivity.
"As women, we are the heartbeat of our communities. Let us lead by example in the fields, in our homes, and in our wards. The land is our heritage, and through hard work, we shall feed our families and contribute to Vision 2030," said Chinomona.
She further encouraged Women's League structures to mobilise and educate members on climate‑smart farming techniques, sustainable land use and the importance of early planting in light of changing weather patterns.
Chinomona also reaffirmed the Women's League's support for President Emmerson Mnangagwa and the Second Republic's developmental agenda, noting that women remain key drivers of transformation through resilience, innovation and commitment to nation‑building.
"We are not just tillers of the land, we are builders of the nation. Let us continue to uphold the values of unity, peace and productivity as we march forward under the banner of our revolutionary party," she said.
The meeting also reviewed progress on women‑led economic projects, preparations for the upcoming National People's Conference and strategies to enhance grassroots mobilisation and empowerment.
