First Lady Grace Mugabe has many critics and many make the assumption that she is a fool. This could prove a fatal mistake to her opponents because she has managed to become the most powerful woman in the country while she is still 'only a card carrying Zanu-PF member.'
One could argue that she is the most powerful person in the country since it's reported that she is the one who decides who gets to see the president.
Grace started having an affair with Robert Mugabe while she was still married to Stanley Goreraza and they had a son Russell who now runs his mother's dairy empire.
The president was married to the now late Sally Mugabe.
There are rumours that Grace got her job as Mugabe's secretary with the help of Kaukonde and Chiwenga.
Grace is allegedly related to both men.
Grace is a fighter. She once boasted about punching a British journalist.
Despite her reported rivalry with Oppah Muchinguri, the fiery Grace is now working with Muchinguri as she takes over the reigns of the Zanu-PF Women's League.
Grace has now turned on Mujuru and urged her husband to sack her as Prime Minister.
In the meantime, Grace has been working on portraying herself as mother of the nation.
Grace seems to deal harshly with those that 'wrong her' and is reportedly behind the former Sunday Mail editor's downfall after he apparently claimed in a blog that Bona Mugabe was raped.
Grace is reported to have been very influential in Bona getting married to Simba Chikore, possibly paving way for the next generation of the Mugabe Dynasty.
A lot of people may undermine the first lady of Zimbabwe but she has come a long way to get where she is and has faced down a lot of detractors to become the alleged defacto president.
Whatever people may say about her, she is the one who has the ear of the president. Whatever she wants, she appears to get. Some may say this will end when Mugabe dies but Grace's greatest weapon could be the fact that her opponents undermine her.
