Mixing politics with education at High School
11 Apr 2013 at 04:16hrs | Views
The headmaster Mr Mugaradziko at Nyamatikiti High School in Rushinga has destroyed the school due to pursuing politics.
He is actively involved in politics to the extend that he appears once every fortnight conducting school business. He is a strong supporter of the defunct Zanu-PF and has an appointment in the party.
Even if you look at the pass rate, it is one of the worst as teachers will be busking in the sun or makes their own journeys during this hay time.
The authority figures (the Education Officers and Provincial Education Officer) know very well of his behaviour but no action is being taken.
Justice should prevail on this man like the one in the Newsday of 21 January 2013 in which a Police assistant inspector based in Bindura was sacked for being actively involved in politics.
For teachers to discharge effectively, they should be monitored and being apolitical.
He has put the lives of our children at this school in ruin.
Most competent teachers have transferred due to harassment by this headmaster. May relevant authorities look into the issue as a matter of urgency.
