Can Dembare dine at Chicken Inn?
16 Nov 2013 at 12:26hrs | Views
THERE is just one thing that Dynamos need to do tomorrow afternoon: beat Chicken Inn at Barbourfields Stadium.
This business of seeing conspirancies and shadows where there are none is much ado about nothing.
Which club has not benefited from some dubious decisions in recent seasons and even during this 2013 Castle Lager Premiership?
To look at Highlanders beating Triangle for the third time this season and fail to diagnose their own problems in failing to beat Shabanie Mine at home is certainly not the way to go for the Zimbabwe champions.
Dynamos are not known for being cry-babies, they are known for fighting to the bitter end like we saw in the 2011 and 2012 races where all odds favoured FC Platinum and Highlanders.
As they head to Bulawayo tomorrow, the defending champions welcome back Patson Jaure from suspension, Tawanda Muparati from injury and perhaps Clive Kawinga if he passes a late fitness test.
Russel Madamombe limped off injured against Shabanie Mine after pulling a muscle while Cliff Sekete has a wrist injury, further wilting coach Kalisto Pasuwa's chances of fielding a full strength side, although Simba Sithole and Washington Pakamisa can provide firepower upfront.
Ocean Mushure picked up a yellow card - his sixth of the season which also rules him out of the Soccer Stars of the Year selection, and misses tomorrow's trip to the City of Kings. Murape Murape also returns for Dynamos from suspension.
Dynamos have waged a war against referee Nomore Musundire for Mushure's yellow claiming it was unwarranted, but well, as they say, you can cry and fill the Indian Ocean, but the referee's decision remains final!
Under such trying circumstances, Dynamos have always emerged a stronger force and tomorrow's match is one where they have to rise to the occasion and show they are worthy Zimbabwean champions.
Remember the losses to Hwange and How Mine, one would have thought they would crumble, but today, they are still in the running for a historic 20th crown.
This season, Dynamos have only managed to collect three points from a possible six in Bulawayo as they fell 1-0 to How Mine at Luveve. They beat Highlanders 1-0 at Barbourfields - a venue they have always felt comfortable playing at.
Chicken Inn, on the other hand, have not lost in three matches that new coach Joey Antipas has been in charge as he picked up a 1-1 draw in his first match against relegated Monomotapa before beating FC Platinum 2-0 the following weekend.
On Wednesday, they thumped Tripple B 4-1 in Beitbridge with the country's leading scorer and Soccer Star of the Year candidate Tendai Ndoro netting his 17th goal of the season.
Then there is the roving Kuda Mahachi - another candidate for the Soccer Star of the Year calendar - who has struck a good combination with the pair of veteran strikers Mkhokheli Dube and Clemence Matawu and midfield maestro Danny Phiri.
There is also the small matter of the 12th man. While Dynamos fans in Harare will be backing Harare City against Highlanders at Rufaro tomorrow, the Bosso fans will be in full force for the Gamecox at Barbourfields.
