Zimbabwe (2) 4 - Lesotho 0
The Mighty Warriors yesterday crushed Lesotho with four well-executed goals in the Cosafa Women's Championship tie at Rufaro.
Goals by Rudo Neshamba, Tsitsi Mairosi, Rufaro Machingura and Kudakwashe Basopo were enough to give Zimbabwe a good start in the fourth edition of the tournament.
The hosts' goal feast started as early as the sixth minute through the head of Neshamba.
The second for goal came in the 23rd minute after Mairosi received a pass from Erina Jeke, and tapped the ball into the far corner.
Zimbabwe's third goal came seven minutes before full time through giant striker Machingura.
Ndlovu dribbled past a cluster of defenders before delivering a perfect cross that was drilled home by Machingura.
The final nail in the Lesotho coffin came deep in injury time.
Second-half substitute Elizabeth Chaparangana's pile-driver was blocked by Polo Tomo but fellow substitute Basopo was on hand to tap home the rebound and send the crowd into jubilation.
