SOUTH African, rapper Cassper Nyovest's show that is scheduled for Bulawayo this Saturday has caused confusion among fans after information that the musician would perform for free.

The show promoters yesterday said it is not for free to fans but the musician would donate his proceedings to xenophobia victims.

The show which is taking place at Hartsfield Sport Club in Bulawayo will see local musician such as Winky D, Soul Jah Love, Djembe Monks and Cal_Vin taking part.

Patrons are expected to part with $10 and $15 for different areas in the venue.

Speaking to The Herald Entertainment,, show organiser Rawlings Tatenda Zenasi said the show was never free but the musician will donate his proceedings to xenophobia victims.

"Our gate takings are still pegged at $10 general ticket and $15 for VIP. We will use the money to pay for the venue, transport and accommodation for the artistes. The show is not for free, it is just that Nyovest will be performing for free, with the proceedings going to xenophobia survivors," he said.

He said all will go according to plan.

"We are now at advanced stage, the stage work will be done on Friday as Cassper (real name Refiloe Phoolo) will arrive Saturday. Fliers have already been distributed. We have engaged the ZRP to help us in manning the security and our security team too," he said.

Meanwhile, the Motswako rapper posted a video, clearing on the confusion over his show and an Instagram post that he shared last Thursday, Nyovest reiterated his determination to proceed with the tour.

"What's happening at home is dis-gusting, but I am going to Zimbabwe. I will not live in fear to be in the hands of my brothers,"

On video he said, "I am coming to Zimbabwe, Bulawayo to be exact, at Hartsfield Sports Club on April 25. Come and celebrate African music with us. I will be donating the proceedings to xenophobia victims," he said.

Last week, he received threatening messages and calls telling him not to perform.

But his management later issued a statement, saying "On behalf of Cassper Nyovest, African Star communication would like to state that Cassper does not condone or support the wave of xenophobic attacks. We can confirm that booked performances will be honoured."

A local humanitarian musician Anderson Mamimime has donated the system to be used at the show.

Mamimime said he was deeply saddened by the inhuman attacks happening in South Africa.

"I have a son who resides in Cape Town and therefore vulnerable to xenophobia. Cassper has vowed to perform free of charge at Bulawayo concert to extend a hand of peace and fight and, as a solidarity gesture from fellow artiste, AndersonSave Humanity Project and Decor8 Events has sourced state of the art sound system from the Sound Factory and equipment is necessary for the show to proceed under the theme, 'No to Xenophobia Concert 2015,'" he said.
