Tourism and Hospitality Industry minister Walter Mzembi was on Tuesday detained at a hospital in Harare as he was suffering from "extreme exhaustion and fatigue."
"Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry Walter Mzembi was yesterday (Tuesday) detained at a city hospital suffering from fatigue and exhaustion.
"The minister drove to the medical centre for a quick check up yesterday morning but a doctor immediately detained him and advised him to rest at the centre and avoid any work including holding meetings," a statement from his office said.
However, Mzembi was released on Wednesday and strictly advised to "slow down as hyperactivity can lead to severe muscular tension."
As Mzembi was held up for a routine check up, his boss President Mugabe is in Singapore for medical check up.
