The Palestinian Embassy to Zimbabwe has released shocking genocidal statistics recorded during the 470 days of attack by Israel between 7 October 2023 to January 18, 2025 with over half of identified victims being women, children and the elderly.

Speaking in Harare this Thursday, Palestinian Ambassador, Dr Tamer Almassri has announced that the period of attack has indiscriminately cause severe loss of life, infrastructure, revenue, social cohesion, among other basics needs.

"The most prominent statistics during the 470 days of genocide saw 10,000 massacred during the occupation, 61,182 martyrs and missing persons," Almassri said.

"Of the missing persons, only 14,222 bodies have been recovered, 46,960 martyred bodies have reached hospitals," he added.

"A total of 17,861 children were martyred including 214 children who were born and were martyred during the anniversary while 808 children under the age of one were also martyred. Palestine also recorded 12,316 women who were martyred plus over 13,901 widowed as a result of the genocide while 38,495 children were orphaned (lost both parents) or lost one of their parents," Tamer Almassri said.

Meanwhile, Israel and Hamas agreed to a deal to halt the fighting in Gaza and exchange Israeli hostages for Palestinian prisoners thereby opening the way to a possible end to a 15-month war that has inflamed the Middle East.

The latest round of Israeli-Palestinian conflict began on Oct. 7, 2023 when Hamas militants stormed across the border into Israeli communities.

Palestinian death toll amounts to more than 10 times its count of losses in all previous Gaza conflicts since 2008.
