On Saturday Zapu supporters were disappointed because the entertainment they were promised for the party's Golden Jubilee celebrations at Barbourfields Stadium, Bulawayo was a flop.
The Soul Brothers band members where allegedly deported and the local artists Black Umfolosi and Sandra Ndebele also did not turn up. It is apparently because they were disgruntled by the fact that only Soul Brothers were paid to perform.
Soul Brothers were reportedly paid 68 000 Rand yet locals were expected to perform for free. However, Soul Brothers' band manager is said to have committed suicide after squandering the money. The suicide is alleged to have then divided the band.
After the event the crowd was running wild, chanting and singing Soul Brothers, Soul Brothers, Soul Brothers. - Int' oyenzayo, siyayizonda!.
