The previous week's pledge by businessman Mr Abraham Phiri for monthly donations of FIFA - approved standard soccer balls, and the subsequent delivery of the first batch for February 2012 seems to have triggered a barrage of similar pledges from other Bosso fans. The indefatigable and highly motivated Highlanders FC fans will be gathering at Johannesburg's iconic Booysens Hotel on 3 March 2012.  The theme of the event is to get more specific and targeted pledges and donations to urgently buy a motor vehicle, to be donated to Highlanders FC for the exclusive use of the newly appointed team coach.

The fans have made a dramatic shift of mindset. They now want to take full responsibility in the [Harry] Trumanian - inspired "the buck stops here" spirit.  The fans want to stop the now too familiar bad habit of kicking the buck down the line whereby the team's woes are usually placed at someone's doorstep. Henceforth they want to stop complaining, whingeing and apportioning blame, and, now prefer to act and do so in a big way as demonstrated by the forthcoming event and the challenge they want to take. At long last the fans are realising and are coming to terms with the root causes of Bosso's diminishing status.  Now the doggedly determined Bosso supporters are directly and unequivocally confronting these challenges head-on notwithstanding the headwinds.

A formal request from Highlanders FC was received by the team's SA representatives appealing for an urgent donation of a motor vehicle to be used by the coach. The hardened and diehard Bosso fans in South Africa and elsewhere have doggedly vowed that they will stampede into the Booysens Hotel and make their pledges and donations to enable the timeous purchasing of the aforesaid motor vehicle.

"We cannot have a situation where the coach of our highly acclaimed top African team like Bosso having to hoof or hitch-hike to and from games" asserted one irate Bosso supporter. Others added via e-mails that this, of course, is a scenario they can not countenance, let alone allow to happen to their beloved Bosso."

Therefore, it's all roads lead to Booysens Hotel for the donations and pledges challenge. It is anticipated that the car will be bought without delay as soon as the targeted amount is reached.

The main business of the day according to organisers (who include former Bosso stalwart Alexander Maseko, inter alia) of the event will be to strictly focus on specific pledges and donations.  No rigmaroles (i.e long winding often incoherent ramblings) will be tolerated.

The event starts at 11: 30 am spot on.
