Man rapes daughter (15) at knife-point, threatens not to pay school fees

A Man from Burnside Suburb appeared before Bulawayo Magistrates Court facing allegations of raping his15-year-old daughter at knife-point after threatening to stop paying her school fees.
The man (38) was denying the rape charges when he appeared before Bulawayo Provincial magistrate Nomagugu Maphosa.
He was remanded in custody to April 1 2022 for the continuation of trial.
It is the state case that in December last year the man was coming from his workplace where he knocked at his daughter's bedroom door upon arrival at his place of residence as usual. She opened the door for her father who greeted her before going to his bedroom. She also went back into her room after realizing her father was home and closed the door but did not lock it.
The Court heard that after about 20 minutes had passed the father allegedly opened her daughter's bedroom door and stormed in, she woke up and sat on the bed in suspense.
The father unexpectedly advanced with a hidden knife to where his daughter was seated and started fondling her breasts.
He allegedly produced the knife from his pocket and ordered her to remove her panties, threatening to kill her if she revealed the sexual abuse to anyone before raping her once without protection.
After the alleged rape, the father then threatened to stop paying for her school fees if she reported the matter to anyone.
Two days after the incident, the father allegedly ordered his daughter to take a bus to their rural home in Mutare after offering her some bus fare money, where she revealed the matter to her mother upon arrival.
They reported the matter to Mutare police leading to her father's arrest.
