Today (22 April 2014), at around 11.30am, 8 men from the Police Law and Order department and Potraz officials (Post and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe) visited Radio Dialogue offices in search of broadcasting equipment and they found nothing in the offices.
As part of their search they proceeded to the roof top where they found our VSAT (a satellite communication system), which they said, is illegal to own without a license.
They then inquired about our Internet and telephone service providers and requested for the copies of the latest payment receipts. They proceeded to the Hillside studios with our Technical Manager, Sean Ndlovu still in search of broadcasting equipment, that they did not find.
Zenzele Ndebele, the Radio Dialogue Acting Director was summoned to the Hillside Police station where Sean Ndlovu was assisting the police with information.
The pair were later released without any charge.
