Joyous Celebration coming to Bulawayo

Its joyous time! In August, Joyous Celebration (JC), a widely celebrated South African gospel choir, will treat its fans in Bulawayo for the first time.
The renowned choir will be in Zimbabwe's second biggest city as part of the Harvest House International (HHI) Apostolic and Prophetic Conference. Tickets for the concert are already on sale at HHI offices and different retail outlets in the city. The tickets are going for 5 USD while those for the upper grand stand will cost you 7 USD. VIP tickets are selling for 10 USD and VVIP for 15 USD.
The 55 – member group, which has been steadily growing in the last ten years, prefers to be known as a musical project, since its membership changes every two years. "The past ten years have been a long winding road. We have received tremendous support across South Africa and beyond. God's mercy and grace over the years is the reason we are here today," reads part of the statement released by Joyous Celebration .
Led by musical director Mthunzi Namba, the group has released 15 CDs and DVDs in the past 15 years. It is determined to release an album a year for as long as it can. Joyous Celebration has given birth to some of South Africa's biggest musicians, such as the late Wendy Mseleku, Margaret Motsage, Swazi Dlamini, Vicky Vilakazi, Benjamin Dube, Judith Sephuma, Jabu Hlongwane, among others. Producer Lindelani Mkhize has been hailed South Africa's # 1 gospel lyricist and he writes for numerous artists, including Kabelo.
Members of JC are selected at competitive nationwide auditions every two years. When the choir started, their mission was to "create a group that would uplift the nation and reflect South Africa's inspirational transition". In the past fifteen years they have won numerous awards from the prestigious KORA awards to the regional South African Music Awards.
They sing a wide range of gospel tracks from traditional hymns to contemporary Christian music. Every album of their's contains at least eight languages, with a dash of some celebratory praise and worship songs.
Relzim.org talked to some fans of the group and this is what they said "The coming of Joyous Celebration is commendable since they are coming for their very first time to Bulawayo. They are an apostolic choir that is able to minister across Africa," said Mr. Mkhululi Tshuma. And Natasha Karimakwenda, a worshipper at Harvest House International had this to say, "I am excited about the coming of joyous Celebration and I hope Bulawayo will be blessed."
Harvest House International is one of the leading Pentecostal churches, established in October 1995 by Apostles Colin and Sarah Nyathi, and this September this community of faith celebrates 16 years of its existence.
