Barnabas Mwanaka, an MDC-T member who was feared to be dead after he was seriously assaulted by heavily armed anti-riot police officers at Harvest House on Thursday has been located.
The MDC-T Youth Assembly secretary for Mbare district has been located at a Harare hospital where he is recovering after he was severely beaten by police, breaking his right leg yesterday outside Harvest House.
He is receiving treatment at the hospital under heavy police guard.
There were strong fears on the health and whereabouts of Mwanaka after the MDC-T, lawyers and his relatives could not locate him at any of the police stations in Harare since his arrest yesterday.
He is part of eight MDC-T members who were arrested at Harvest House yesterday when anti-riot police officers stormed the building. The others are detained at the Harare Central Police Station but no charges have been brought against them.
