A PROMINENT Zvishavane businessman passed out in court while leading evidence of his love escapades when he saw two of his wife's sisters who he had given money to go to Harare in the Mwenezi court gallery.
The complainant, Finos Mare, a prominent businessman in Zvishavane collapsed in court after he realised that he had been trapped by his wife and her sisters.
The court was forced to adjourn and later postpone the case whose script reads like a scene in a Nollywood movie.
The case appeared last week before Mwenezi district magistrate, Mr Tapera Bvudzijena, where Mare was the complainant in a case of malicious damage to property after his wife allegedly hired the accused Fred Rusike (26) to follow him from Zvishavane and set his vehicle on fire while at his girlfriend's house at Ngundu business centre.
The State case as presented by the prosecutor, Mr Willard Chasi, was that sometime in October last year Mare went to see his girlfriend at Ngundu business centre leaving his wife in Zvishavane.
The prosecutor told the court that when he arrived at his girlfriend's place he parked his car outside and went into the house.
It was the court case that when the two were about to retire to bed they heard footsteps outside where the car was parked and Mare went out to investigate.
When he opened the door he allegedly saw Fred who he knew from Zvishavane close to the car. When he called him he was startled and threw dynamite that burnt the vehicle trye before he disappeared into the darkness.
The following morning Mare went back to Zvishavane having reported the matter to the police.
After some days in Zvishavane the car was burnt down and he made another report to the police to the effect that he suspected that it was Fred because of his earlier futile attempt at Ngundu.
The previous day before the court, two young sisters of his wife requested that they want to go to Harare and he gave them some money.
Mare was however, shocked during the process of leading evidence when he saw his wife's sisters among people in the gallery and he collapsed.
Mr Motion Njaravani of Chuma, Gurajena and Associates Legal Practitioners represented the accused.
After he had gained strength he was asked if he was prepared to continue in which he replied that the case be postponed to a later date.
