A barren Chitungwiza woman, Lungile Nyathi (30) will spend two years in jail for kidnapping a 2 month old baby girl in South Africa and smuggled her to Zimbabwe to please her hubby.
Lungile went barren in 2006 after undergoing an operation to remove her placenta.
While in South Africa she stayed with the cousin of the girl's mother.
On April 30, she visited Sithandazile Nyathi and they set off for some photo shoots.
On their way back, Lungile offered to carry the child and they stopped at a shop where the girls mum intended to buy some hairpiece.
In a space of five minutes Lungile had fled with the baby, crossed to Zimbabwe.
In court she said she wanted to please her husband's relative who had become restless with her not being pregnant.
Her husband works in Botswana.
