Norton Member of Parliament Temba Mliswa says an unnamed Minister dispatched anti-riot police to evict members of the Joshua Nkomo Cooperative.
Posting on Twitter Mliswa said, "I have been invited to Kambuzuma's Joshua Nkomo Housing Cooperative where the residents are seeking help to deal with their land issue. They have been beaten and harassed by the police being sent by a Minister."
Mliswa questioned why the police were involved in a matter which is before the courts.
"Why is the Police Support Unit doing the bidding of a person in harassing residents with offer letters and pending court judgements at Joshua Nkomo Cooperative."
Last month Mliswa posted on Twitter a mail he got from a Resident residing in Aspindale Park, commonly known as Joshua Nkomo Cooperative.
The resident claimed that the Ministry of Lands has said that the land they are occupying belongs to Billy Rautenbach. It also urged residents to engage Rautenbach in regularising it. The resident claims they did, but, Rautenbach now has further demands including US$85 per square metre, 2% tax and 15% VAT from every resident or they get evicted.
