Security guards bash illegal miner to death

Three security guards from VIP mining syndicate in Shamva were arrested after they took turns to fatally assault Nomore Kanyongo (22) on Sunday for trespassing into the mine to steal gold ore.
The trio of Victor Chakanyuka (38), Elijah Kanyenza (28) and Godknows Banda (25) came to assault the now deceased Kanyongo with battons all over the body and he died on the spot. Another security guard Darlington Mufurinwa fired a warning shot while calling for help.
Deputy Mashonaland Central police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Naison Dhliwayo confirmed the case.
"I can confirm a murder case in Shamva where three security guards took turns to assault an illegal miner. we have since arrested the suspects and investigations are on going," Dhliwayo said.
The body of the deceased was taken to Bindura hospital awaiting postmortem.
Police warned people not to take the law into their hands by applying instant justice.
