Zanu PF Matabeleland North Province says its mobilisation campaign for Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3 has intensified, claiming widespread support across the province for the proposed changes, which include extending President Emmerson Mnangagwa's term.
In a statement, the party's provincial information department said Matabeleland North had "erupted into a powerhouse of mobilisation" as the campaign gained momentum.
"Leading this historic charge is Honourable Richard Moyo, the Mat North Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution and also the Zanu PF Provincial Chairman, whose relentless drive and decisive leadership have ignited an unmatched wave of awareness across the province," the statement said.
According to the party, the campaign has reached communities "from the furthest rural outposts to bustling growth points", with the message that "Amendment Bill No. 3 is the people's agenda".
"Under Cde Moyo's command, provincial structures have moved with precision and unity, ensuring that every household, every citizen and every voice is brought into the fold," the statement added.
Zanu PF said communities were "electrified" and embracing the Bill with "conviction and pride", describing the process as having shifted from a parliamentary exercise to a "people‑driven movement".
The party argued that Amendment Bill No. 3 represents "a bold and necessary step" towards strengthening Zimbabwe's governance framework by enhancing stability, clarity and efficiency in leadership and national development.
"The proposed reforms, including adjustments to the presidential term and electoral systems, are being championed as critical pillars in securing the nation's future," the statement said.
Zanu PF said its mobilisation teams would continue working "day and night" to consolidate support.
"The unity displayed across Matabeleland North sends a powerful message that the people are informed, the people are ready and the people are firmly behind Amendment Bill No. 3," the party said.
"Matabeleland North is not just participating - it is leading from the front."
