There was chaos in Harare near Copa Cabana along Chinhoyi Street after a snake from a commuter omnibus charged at passengers.

In a bizarre incident took place when a ferocious brown cobra fearfully forced its way off a Warren Park bound Toyota Hiace with registration number ABZ 4966 only to start chasing the public which was anxiously waiting for kombis with affordable fares.

The kombi, whose owner is a 22-year-old Pasco Muzavazi, reportedly experienced the same bizarre incident last year. One passenger who spoke on condition of anonymity confirmed the previous incident which he attributed to the owner's "dirty hands".

"It's not the first time for us to see a snake coming off the Muzavazi kombis. Another snake charged at passengers near the National Sports Stadium last year and it is suspicious as it has happened in the same vehicle," he said.

The kombi driver only identified as Plantini said it was normal that reptiles move around and can be found in public areas.

"It is just a snake moving about. The only unfortunate thing is that the snake was seen coming out of our vehicle but I assure you there is nothing sinister there," he claimed.

The 22-year-old Pasco Muzavazi reportedly owns a massive fleet of 35 commuter omnibuses and this left the public suspicious about his wealth taking into account his age, where most of those he attended school with are either unemployed or still in college.
