THE eight Chitungwiza-based MDC-T supporters who were arrested for disorderly conduct in Mutare on Saturday were released yesterday after they each paid $20 admission of guilty fines.
The activists were arrested after they clashed with police as they drove to Sakubva Stadium for the party's 14th anniversary celebrations.
Their lawyer Farai Matinhure confirmed the development yesterday, saying police initially wanted to charge them with obstructing the course of justice.
"They were ordered to pay $20 for disorderly conduct. The prosecution department assessed the evidence in the docket and realised that it does not support the charge they were facing hence they were ordered to pay fines for disorderly conduct," said Matinhure.
