Residents give Mugabe a 7 day ultimatum

President Mugabe has been given seven days by greater Harare residents to stop the ongoing demolitions of houses in Chitungwiza and Epworth.

Marvellous Khumalo the coordinator of Chitungwiza Resident trust said the slum clearance drive must stop forthwith because they were a clear violation of Zimbabwe's new constitution which enshrines the right to shelter as a universal right.

Last week the councils of Chitungwiza and Epworth razed down dozens of houses claiming they were illegally built.
