JOURNALIST Itai Dzamara who was severely beaten by more than twenty cops for staging 'unsanctioned' marches calling for President Mugabe to step down says he is 'fit and 'fine' and will resume his infamous demonstrations against Mugabe.

Dzamara and human right lawyer Kennedy Masiye were admitted at a hospital in Harare after sustaining serious injuries from brutal assaults by cops in Harare on Thursday.

This was for the second time that the unstrained activist who has become an enemy of the State has been beaten after he was assaulted by Zanu PF supporters last month while leading a similar march at the Parliament building.

Today, Dzamara who has in the past vowed to continue with the demos until he gets "feedback" reappeared and vowed to continue with his infamous project despite the thorough beatings.

A deliberate plot to kill me by thugs in police uniform yesterday totally failed," Dzamara wrote on his Facebook page today. Assessments have shown that l didn't suffer any life threatening nor internal injuries…."

"…..If my crime to these thugs and their masters is my commitment to pursuing civil, peaceful and resolute means for a better Zimbabwe, then my conscience is clear and I am willing to face anything.
Am recovering from multiple injuries and will be back soon, to fight for a better Zimbabwe," he said.

The Occupy Africa Unity Square project has gone viral on Social Media culminated in the online petition launched by Zimbabweans based in the Diaspora.

Yesterday the Occupy Unity Square Team condemned the beatings and described them a barbaric attempt to silence them.

"The Occupy Africa Unit Square team would like to deplore this barbaric action. This is a clear disregard of the Zimbabwe Constitution and Human Rights Charter. Zimbabweans should have the freedom to protest and gather," the team was quoted as saying yesterday.

We have the right to take our government to accountability. Just before Itai was assaulted he said 'the reality of what's become the way of life for the majority of Zimbabweans: living from scraps, living in the muck of crumbling service delivery, dejectedness and the stink of unemployment, it's not really a case to argue -our government has become like a leech draining the life giving blood from its own people

….They must look in the mirror! Respond to the petition'. Itai and the team would be pleased to know that their efforts are not in vain. The day the OAUS team was assaulted, our petition has got 327 signatures."
