Christ Embassy invades Zimbabwe, launches roadshows

Chris Oyakhilome (known popularly as "Pastor Chris") led CHRIST Embassy has launched the first ever Christian road show that saw thousands of people in the city centre receiving the Rhapsody of Realities daily devotional.

They intend to distribute more than five million copies freely to the people of Zimbabwe in different languages which will also include Shona and Ndebele.

The road show which was commissioned by the Christ Embassy Zimbabwe senior pastor, Pastor Ruth Musarurwa was at Christ Embassy head office in Belvedere.

Speaking at the launch Pastor Ruth said it was the church's desire to get everyone born again and to spread the gospel through Christian materials such as the Rhapsody of Realities, books and tapes by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome.

"I declare the Rhapsody of Realities distribution launched; in the book are the messages that will inspire you.

"We want to reach out to everyone in the nation and no stone will be left unturned.

"We want to touch lives and souls and everyone will hear us through the word of God."

The road show saw over a 100 vehicles under police escort driving through the city centre distributing this month's edition.

Among the motorcade were haulage trucks decorated with the church's colours and banners with messages.

Pastor Ruth said the Rhapsody of Realities road show will be launched in every city in Zimbabwe.

Last year more than two million copies were distributed countrywide.

Chris Oyakhilome (known popularly as "Pastor Chris") is a Nigerian televangelist, faith healer and founding president of Believers' LoveWorld Incorporated also known as "Christ Embassy", a Pentecostal Christian ministry headquartered in Lagos, Nigeria. The pastor's television programs feature his faith healing and been targeted by the government for these claims. Like other modern African Pentecostal ministries, Oyakhilome's is primarily directed toward youth of all classes, specifically the large Pentecostal Christian populations in southern Nigeria and South Africa. Oyakhilome has a strong South African following[1] and is notable for organising the Night of Bliss South Africa at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg. Oyakhilome has also been criticised by the Treatment Action Campaign for his support of faith healing to cure HIV.

Oyakhilome's net worth has been estimated to be between $30-50 million. His business investments include newspapers, magazines, television (local station and satellite), music publishing, hotels and real estate.

Pastor Chris runs a global prayer network using social network platforms to send messages to his followers regularly. Known as PastorChrisLive on those platforms, he currently has over 1 million followers on Twitter and over 1.2 million friends on Yookos.
