Raradza declared national hero

PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa has conferred National Hero status on the late Edward Raradza, who died on September 4, 2026.
The announcement was contained in a letter dated September 8 from ZANU PF Secretary-General Advocate Jacob Mudenda to Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Martin Rushwaya.
According to the letter, Raradza, who hailed from Mashonaland Central Province, will be buried at the National Heroes Acre in Harare.
The date of burial is yet to be announced.
The late national hero's mourners are gathered at House Number 965, Mount Pleasant Heights, Phase 1, Harare.
Mudenda requested that the necessary arrangements be made for Raradza's burial and that applicable benefits be paid to the bereaved family.
Raradza becomes the latest ZANU PF figure to be accorded national hero status in recognition of his contribution to the country and the ruling party.
