President Robert Mugabe says the Zimbabwe Republic Police should add courses such as computer science, criminal analysis and forensic studies in their curricular as they can help them bring criminals to book more efficiently.
Speaking at a pass out parade where 698 officers graduated at Morris Depot President Mugabe said the ZRP should add courses in their curricular that are relevant to the modern day activities of criminals which will speed up their effectiveness.
Mugabe also urged the ZRP to speed up the acquisition of the automated finger print detection machines to avoid unnecessary delays during court proceedings.
He urged graduating students to be professional, caring and compassionate and to endeavour to be fair and balanced as they undertake their duties.
Of the 698, 408 were male while 290 were female graduands.
Zimbabwe police failed to investigate the rabble-rousing Baba Jukwa Facebook page that has rattled authorities in the country due to poor computer skills.
The Baba Jukwa Facebook page gained popularity at its peak last year for dishing out party and state secrets, its exposés of corruption by senior party figures and providing details of Mr Mugabe's failing health.
