Psychology Maziwisa hails Mugabe over the look East policy

Zanu PF Harare MP Terence Maziwisa has hailed President Robert Mugabe for adopting a look East policy in which China is now a friend of Zimbabwe though there are reports that the Chinese are exploiting resources from Zimbabwe with the country not benefiting much from the activities.
Maziwisa said one of the biggest strategies employed by President Robert Mugabe after the imposition of sanctions on Zimbabwe more than 15 years ago was the pursuit of what is now known as the Look-East policy.
"At the time, this policy was treated with contempt and derision and many argued that very little, if anything at all, would come out of i," he said.
"However, with the benefit of hindsight and on the basis of available evidence, it is not going too far to say that the Zimbabwe-China warm relations and solid economic ties enjoyed over the years and especially over the last 15 years have vindicated President Mugabe and proven the critics wrong."
He said but more than that, today's state visit by Chinese President Xi Jinping (the second ever such visit by a sitting Chinese President to Zimbabwe) is not only historic and hideously prophetic but a day of national honour for Zimbabwe.
