Matemadanda released on bail

The Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association (ZNLWVA) secretary-general Victor Matemadanda, Headman Mwoyo and Wayne Bhila who were in police custody for undermining President's authority has this morning granted bail by Harare magistrate Vakayi Chikwekwe.
The trio who are part of the freedom fighters who sacrificed their life for independence of Zimbabwe are facing charges of insulting and undermining the authority of the president have been released on USD 300 bail this morning.
Matemadanda and two other war veterans' leaders, ZNLWVA vice-chairman, Headman Mwoyo and Harare executive member, Wayne Bhila were taken into custody by the police in connection with the issuing of a communique which they said President Robert Mugabe must step down.
Douglas Mahiya, war veterans spokesperson is also facing the same charges and was also released on a conditional $300 bail on Monday at Rotten Row Court where the presence of the former Vice President Joice Teurai Ropa Mujuru surprised people.
She came to stand in solidarity with other war veterans as they are going through a hard time.
