Emirates, the world's largest international airline, has awarded two signed cricket bats to the winners of its competition to seek out the most fervent devotees of the sport.
Chipo Mashoro and Arnold McDonald were presented with the exclusive ICC World Twenty20 2016 cricket bats, emblazoned with signatures from all members of the Zimbabwe cricket squad, after being the first to answer the questions correctly on ZiFM Stereo's live cricket programme.
Ibrahim Ghanim, Emirates Zimbabwe's commercial manager, handed over the ICC cricket world cup bats to the proud winners whom he described as "formidable fans", adding, "Emirates is always doing its bit to keep cricket well and truly alive around the globe."
The Emirates competition aimed to encourage cricket-lovers to celebrate the sport by participating through sharing, interacting and answering questions to discover the most devoted followers of the Zimbabwe national cricket team.
Chipo Mashoro, the first winner, said: "I am so elated to be the winner. What a thrill! It's such a fantastic surprise and honour. I love cricket and I love our Chevrons. I'm behind them all the way. I am thankful to Emirates for making my week even more beautiful and to ZiFM for the platform."
The competition was open to all loyal followers of the sport who wished to demonstrate their unswerving national pride.
As a partner of the International Cricket Council since 2002, Emirates has been one of the most prolific sponsors of international sport. This year, the airline renewed its commitment for a further seven years which confirms its partnership for all ICC events until 2023.
